Cape House | Home and Hospitality | Amelia Island Florida

Last week on Meet the Founders, we introduced our curator of all-things-pretty, Tiffany (and it’s evident you love her just as much as we do!) Next up: Lance Jones. Our very own energizer bunny, Lance is the master of motivation. If you keep up with him on Instastories (@joneslance, if you don’t), you’ve seen him pack his day full of Cape House tasks; loving on his wife, Lauren, and daughter, Addi Grace; and chowing down on his latest culinary creation.

Currently, Lance does “all things whenever” for Cape House. He’s framed, floored, and shiplap-installed during the build out, and when the store opens, he’ll manage and execute the vision and day-to-day operations of Cape House, creating an overall experience that compliments a beautiful aesthetic design.

ON CAPE HOUSE…

What’s your vision for Cape House?
“That we continue to develop and grow a lifestyle brand that will impact lives long after we are gone. It’s about a legacy a business that becomes a part of people’s lives. In 5 years, I see Cape House located in multiple markets – our presence reflecting an investment in the community and people who are living life to the fullest with the people who matter most. In 10, I see the Cape House brand as a frontrunner in the home decor and hospitality industry, known for how much we care about the communities we are invested in. My prayer is that we will hear lives changed for eternity because of the encounters they have with Cape House.”

KEEPING IT LIGHT…

Last three photos on your phone?
“An interior photo of the Cape House build out; my girls (Lauren & Addi Grace); and a fried egg biscuit with chipotle gouda, bacon and jalapeños.”

Currently reading? Favorite book?
“Just finished Thank You Economy by Gary Vaynerchuk, and my favorite book is Oh, The Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss.”

Who would play you in a movie of your life?
“I would love for Vince Vaughn to represent me (but at 6’ 5” he doesn’t really fit my profile). People tell me Neil Patrick Harris or Ryan Seacrest…”

Favorite sandwich?
“Are we talking breakfast, lunch or dinner? This could be an entire interview. Let’s go with lunch. Lauren and I took a road trip in 2013 to Charleston and I remember biting into Mike’s Famous Duck Club at the Tattooed Moose: ‘a triple decker filled with duck confit, apple-smoked bacon & hickory-smoked cheddar on sweet Hawaiian bread with garlic aioli, lettuce, tomato & red onion. Garnished with house-made garlicky dill & spicy-sweet green tomato pickles.’ We ordered that with duck fat fries. R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S! “

Favorite room in your home?
“Kitchen. It’s where I start the day (coffee) and end the day (bowl of cereal). It’s at the core of my love for food, my inspiration for cooking, and where I love entertaining. Some of the best memories I have with family and friends originated in the kitchen.”

Favorite season?
“Spring. It feels like everything is coming back to life and the transition from cold to warm brings an anticipation. I remember spending a winter in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and couldn’t wait for spring to come.”

Favorite holiday?
“While it may not make the typical holiday list, National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day is a favorite. I think it’s time to start the tradition of traveling to every state and trying the best grilled cheese sandwich – who’s coming with me? Christmas is my favorite holiday. The significance of our Savior’s birth combined with my wife’s homemade cinnamon rolls makes me look forward to Christmas every year.”

LET’S DIG A LITTLE DEEPER…

What trait do you like the most about yourself?
“Optimistic perspective. There is ALWAYS an opportunity.”

What trait has gotten you in the most trouble?
“Ambition (insert countless of stories of ‘I can do that’).”

What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?
“‘I’m proud of you’ from the people I love most. The ultimate compliment I plan to receive is ‘well done’.”

What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?
“Love God. Love People. Do Stuff.” Bob Goff

What do you love about being a part of your family?
“Unconditional love. Growing up our home was filled with an amazing amount of love, and I was blessed to marry into a family deeply rooted in it.”

To say Lance thrives on meeting new people is an understatement! So, if you see him, don’t hesitate to say hello. Next week, we’re circling back to introduce you to Tiffany‘s other half: Wes Hinton. You might peg him as the serious one of the group, but we think you’ll come find otherwise. The more you know him, the more you love him!
